Landscape / Garden Design – Do it yourself or Hire it out?
So you are planning your new backyard and trying to decide if you need a landscape design or not.
What qualifies me to give you information?
I come from Calgary Alberta, Canada and over the last few years, I have done alot of Calgary Landscapes designer.
If you do a little research you will realize that there is a wide variety of options available that allows you to completely redo your backyard.
The next question naturally becomes should I hire a Landscape Designer, or do the design yourself?
But not everyone is an artist. therefore, it can be tough for some to visualize a finished yard.
The truth of the matter is that not everyone fine the same thing to be interesting. If one thing seems to be beautiful to one person it is not necessary that another person will also find it beautiful

Drawing, making mistakes, erasing and then redesigning the landscape on a paper is not a difficult task but in an acutaly yard, as I have seen in many Calgary Landscape projects, there is no room for error.
What I recommend in such situation is to hire a professional in the field who can offer you numerous options for your project
You can use the following questions to see if you are fit to do the redesigning yourself or not
Are you good at drawing?
This is super important. Every professional landscape designer in will come up with a scale drawing.
You will also need to take the shape of the yard, in which you wish to install the landscape, before you start the task.
You need to take precise measurements of your backyard before you start designing and ultimately building the landscape. Just imagine the problem if you build a new patio but it is not big enough for the smallest table in your home!
Technological advancements have spread its feet in every field. You can take advantage of the advancements by buying a software program that can help you in designing the right landscape for your backyard. The best thing about these software is they are extremely easy to use.
How much do you know about plants?
Plants usually have long lifespan especially trees but in older neighborhoods we see that beautiful and fully matured trees and plants need to be cut down only because of the spacing problems
A landscape design with a professional landscape expert would solve this problem that usually takes about 25 years to take effect. That is a big time investment to lose.
However, you need to make sure that the plants you are planting in your backyard are in harmony with the landscape surrounding it.
This will not only allow the plants to grow but also give give a fresher look to your landscape.
In the area in which I live, there are many beautiful Calgary Garden Gardens in Calgary. The best Gardens all had a sound plan!
Planning your home out carefully with a landscape design will not only save you money in the end, but will allow for a more thought out transition from house to backyard, making the perfect space for you and your family to enjoy for years to come.
